Liz and Bruce with Wizzywoo and Bumblicious

What is Osteopathy?

Osteopathy is a system of diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of medical conditions.  It works with the structure and function of the body, and is based on the principle that the well-being of an individual depends on the skeleton, muscles, ligaments and connective tissues functioning smoothly together.

Do I need a doctor’s referral to make an appointment with the Osteopath?

It is not necessary to get a referral from a doctor to make an appointment.

Does my health insurance cover Osteopathic treatment?

Yes, but different policies have different levels of cover, i.e. you may have to pay an excess or need a referral from a doctor. It is best to check with your insurance company before having treatment.

How many treatments will I need?

The number of necessary treatments varies from patient to patient and from condition to condition. We will discuss this with you on your first visit.

What should I wear?

You will be asked to remove your outer clothing, usually down to your underwear. This makes it easier for the Osteopath to examine and treat you effectively; however if you would feel more comfortable, you may wear shorts / loose clothing.

Do you open in the evenings?

We realise that many of you will be working during the week so our last bookable appointment is 19:30 Monday to Friday.

Who are Bumblicious and Bear?

We are Liz and Bruce's dogs and we like to keep them fit by taking them for lots of walks.
